Kekova - Üçağız Area

Üçağız-Kekova is a characteristic region of Turkish Mediterranean coast.
Üçağız is the first village in Kekova Area.It gets its name(Teimussa in ancient lycian language meaining “There mouth”) from the unigue geography the harbor just give passage to the waters sheltered by Kekova İsland.
Looking from the in the back of the village,these waters look like a river along the Island,meeting with the sea in the cast and the west.
Watching the scenery from the terrace of our pension or from your balcony would give you the taste of watching a lake,a river and the sea at the same time.
Area is full of antiguities.Small rock island in the middle give the impression of being cut to provide material for ancient monuments.Sunken City of Kekova has half of its ruins in the sea and half on the slopes of the Island.Tersane(“dockyarde”) cove with the remains of a byzantine churc is another charming spot.
The Blue Cave,Kekova Island and the other smoll islands in the area are among the places where dolphins,seals,naval,turtles,plying fish and grey mullet can be observed.
All these naturel and historical properties of Teimussa,Simena,and the Sunken City stretch throug Aperlae,Apolania,Kyaenai and Tyberissus to the whole Lyca,making Üçağız a unigue spot to spend your holday.
